ENERGY SAVING TIPS

Listening is not the same as seeing, and seeing not the same as doing. Anything as beautiful teachings would be useless if not done. Love your electricity, start by using it with saving by running the following tips.

Control the temperature with a thermostat.
Use the cover on the space exposed to direct sunlight.

Memilih AC Hemat Energi

Seringkali kita dibuat binggung tentang bagaimana cara memilih AC yang hemat energi. Karena banyaknya merk AC yang ditawarkan produsen dipasaran, dengan berbagai harga, variasi, serta  model dan fitur yang menarik, tentunya ini menuntut anda untuk pintar dan jeli memilih mana AC yang benar-benar tepat dan bisa memuaskan anda sebagai konsumen. Dan yang terpenting adalah tetap hemat energi.
Berikut beberapa Tips memilih AC yang hemat energi:

RASIO OUTPUT DIBANDING INPUT
AC bisa dikatakan hemat energi adalah AC yang mempunyai output cooling capacity (Btu/h) dibanding power consumption (Watt) angkanya paling besar. Artinya, semakin tinggi rasionya berarti AC semakin hemat dan efisien.
Berdasarkan rasiodiatas maka AC merk Panasonic type Alowa ½ PK lah yang terbukti paling hemat energi dan efisien, baik secara besaran konsumsi energinya (watt) maupun besaran arus daya listrik (ampere) yang dibutuhkan. Urutan kedua disusul oleh AC LG Neo Plasma.
Dan kalau pada kelas AC yang berkapasitas 1 PK, AC LG menduduki peringkat pertama sebagai AC yang paling hemat energi. Baru kemudian disusul beberapa merk lain, berturut-turut seperti: Daikin, Sharp dan TCL.
TCL, AC ini adalah produk buatan dari Cina. cukup banyak terpasang dirumah-rumah, perkantoran, ruang-ruang mesin ATM yang menggunakan AC merk ini. TCL ini secara harga memang murah, sebagaimana ciri rata-rata produk Cina pada umumnya. Namun ternyata AC TCL ini justru yang paling boros atau tidak efisien diantara merk-merk AC lainnya.
Kalau dibandingkan AC TCL kapasitas 1 PK ternyata cooling capacitynya tidak jauh beda dengan merk Panasonic yang kapasitasnya cuma ¾ PK, bukan?

SESUAIKAN KAPASITAS DENGAN KEBUTUHAN
Sebelum membeli AC anda harus tahu berapa luas ruangan yang akan didinginkan oleh AC. Dan rasio untuk mengukur kebutuhan ideal sebuah ruangan adalah sekitar 600 BTU/jam/m2, dengan catatan tinggi ceiling standart (kurang dari 3 meter).
Contoh, jika luas ruangan kamar anda misalnya ukuran 3 X 3 = 9 m2 maka kebutuhan AC-nya adalah sekitar 9 X 600 = 5.400 BTU/h atau 1.58 kW ( 1 kW = 3.412,14 BTU/h) atau setara dengan ½ PK.
Mengapa rasio kebutuhan dan kapasitas ini juga perlu diperhatikan? Karena kalau unit AC terlalu besar akan menyebabkan pemborosan energi dikarenakan AC lebih sering mati-hidup terus menerus dengan frekuensi cukup tinggi. Sebaliknya, jika kapasitas AC terlalu kecil dari kebutuhan luas ruangan yang didinginkan akan menyebabkan AC kerjanya terus menerus dan tidak pernah mati.

PILIH AC DENGAN REFRIGERANT YANG RAMAH LINGKUNGAN
Pilihlah AC dengan refrigerant yang ramah lingkungan, seperti refrigerant dari jenis hidrokarbon. Jangan menggunakan AC dari refrigerant jenis freon. Karena refigerant dari hidrokarbon selain ramah lingkungan dan sangat mendukung pencegahan terhadap pemanasan global, juga terbukti lebih hemat energi sekitar 20% s/d 30% dibanding AC dengan refrigerant sintetis.
